FAQs

  • There are so many reasons why having a SC Concealed Weapons Permit is useful.

1 - First and foremost, if you plan on carrying a firearm, you MUST DO SO LAWFULLY! In order to lawfuly carry a handgun in SC, openly or concealed, you MUST have a valid SC CWP.

2 - It’s a great way to learn more about the law and legal considerationss of owning and possessing a firearm and to better understand some very important legal considerations in the USE OF DEADLY FORCE and the LAWS OF SELF DEFENSE. Remember! You are responsble for knowing the law if you plan on handling, possessing, owning, and or carrying a firearm. This class is a great way to be more informed!

3 - Having a current and valid SC CWP will serve as a background check* in most cases when you purchase a firearm or have one transfered to your local FFL. This greatly speeds ups your transaction, especially during high-volume periods such as holidays like Christmas.

*While uncommon, we have encountered situations in which the store, dealer or individual FFL will still process the NCIC check either online or over the phone.

  • Our SC CWP classes are approximately 8 hours.

You may be surprised to know that a lot of our SC CWP students have never even fired a handgun before.

Our classes are usually limited to less than 12 people to allow for more personalized assistance. We walk through the steps of loading and unloading the magazine, holstering and unholstering the firearm, and getting well-aimed shots on target.

We keep a safety focused mindest with an ultimate goal of ensuring you feel not only safe, but comfortable and confident.

  • We encourage it!

It is strongly recommended that a student uses the firearm they plan on carrying so they are aware of the unique features and considerations of that firearm when it comes to loading, holstering, drawing and firing.

We understand however that ammunition can be difficult to find and expensive when you do. So, for just $20 more per person you can use our firearm, ammunition, & range gear

If you do plan on using your own firearm, you will need to bring the following.

    • functional firearm

    • 25 rounds of ammunition

    • 2 magazines (minimum)

    • holster

    • eye protection

    • hearing protection
